19thC Smokers Bow
Description
This 19thC Smokers Bow is both generously proportioned and benefits from good deep turnings to accentuate the shape and form. The chunky legs and lower rails lead up to a wonderfully shaped Elm seat that offers far more comfortable seating than you would think from a wooden seat.
The top rail is supported by the turned uprights, that are of a very pleasing form. The chair is made from Beech apart from the Elm seat.
This chair has the most fantastic patination to it, accumulated from many years of use, with the worn areas on the upright posts a joy to behold. The outside back of the chair displays a good ‘crusty’ finish that is so sought after. A chair that displays its history with pride and rightly so, just waiting to be used and accumulate even more patination.
